About me
Flutist Susan Jackson received degrees from Tufts University and the New England Conservatory of Music where she studied with Fenwick Smith and Claude Monteux. While at NEC she was a member of the honors woodwind quintet and a second prize winner of the prestigious Pappoutsakis Flute Competition. She has performed with numerous orchestras throughout New England including the Portland Symphony, Vermont Symphony, Boston Philharmonic and New Hampshire Philharmonic. As a chamber musician she has performed with the Pentamerus Winds woodwind quintet, the New Hampshire Philharmonic Chamber Players and Reverie, a flute and harp duo. Susan is currently principal flutist with the Concord Orchestra and the Carlisle Chamber Orchestra where she has been featured as a soloist numerous times with both groups. Susan also enjoys teaching and is on the faculty at UMass Lowell and the Instrumental Music School of Concord and Carlisle.
