First Church of Christ, Scientist – The Mother Church Extension

Start your First Night Boston 2025 with the glorious sounds of one of the world’s largest pipe organs at The First Church of Christ, Scientist. Co-sponsored by the Boston chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the concert will feature three celebrated Boston-area organists: Bryan Ashley, Organist of The Mother Church; Louise Mundinger, Music Director at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul; and Jeremy Bruns, Director of Music and Organist at Parish of the Epiphany (Episcopal) in Winchester, MA. Solo organ music will be performed on the impressive Aeolian-Skinner Opus 1203, installed in 1952. With over 13,000 individual pipes ranging in size from mere inches to 32 feet long, this pipe organ was one of the largest church organs in the world at its installation. Enjoy a variety of music composed by J. S. Bach, Barber, Widor, Diemer, Parker, Langlais, Daquin, Wammes, and Mulet.
